Gateway Comms Lost

Schneider Electric · XW Pro NA Operation Guide

What does F92 mean?

This Automatic Fault indicates that communication with the gateway device has been lost. This is a critical communication error that can hinder overall system monitoring and control.

Common Causes

  • Power supply failure to the gateway device (e.g., loss of 24VDC input).
  • Ethernet cable or other communication link between the XW Pro and the gateway device is disconnected, damaged, or faulty.
  • Network infrastructure issue (e.g., faulty switch port, router malfunction, IP address conflict) preventing communication with the gateway.
  • Gateway device malfunction or internal software crash, causing it to stop responding to network queries.
  • Incorrect network configuration (e.g., IP address, subnet mask, gateway address) on the XW Pro or the gateway (e.g., Parameter C1-05 for Gateway IP).

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Verify that the gateway device is powered on and its status LEDs (e.g., power, network activity) indicate normal operation.

  2. 2

    2. Inspect the communication cable (e.g., Ethernet cable) connecting the XW Pro to the gateway for damage and ensure it is securely plugged into both devices.

  3. 3

    3. Ping the IP address of the gateway device from a connected network device (e.g., laptop) to verify network connectivity.

  4. 4

    4. Power cycle the gateway device and the XW Pro inverter to reset their communication modules.

  5. 5

    5. Review the network settings on both the XW Pro (e.g., Parameter C1-05, C1-06) and the gateway device to ensure correct IP addresses and subnet masks.
