DC Link Voltage Too High

SEW Eurodrive · MOVIMOT® MM..D with AC Motor DT/DV / Operating Instruc

What does 07 mean?

This fault occurs when the DC link voltage exceeds its permissible upper limit, often due to regeneration from the motor during deceleration. High DC link voltage can damage the inverter's internal components.

Common Causes

  • Ramp time set too short, causing rapid deceleration and regeneration.
  • Faulty connection between the brake coil and/or braking resistor.
  • Incorrect internal resistance of the brake coil or braking resistor (see 'Technical Data').
  • Thermal overload in the braking resistor, indicating an undersized resistor for the application.
  • Invalid supply input voltage range, leading to an overvoltage condition.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    Increase the ramp time setting.

  2. 2

Check the connection between the braking resistor and brake coil for integrity and correct wiring.

  3. 3

Check the internal resistance of the brake coil and/or braking resistor against the values specified in the 'Technical Data' section.

  4. 4

Verify the supply input voltage falls within the valid voltage range specified for the unit.

  5. 5

Reset the fault by switching off and then switching on the DC 24V supply voltage.

  6. 6

Reset the error via the error reset function.
