Ex-e protection

What does F110 mean?

The maximum allowed duration for operating the motor below 5 Hz in Ex-e protection mode has been exceeded. This fault initiates an emergency stop to comply with safety regulations for explosion-protected motors, which have thermal limitations at low speeds.

Common Causes

  • Project planning or application design dictates extended motor operation below 5 Hz
  • Operational conditions caused the motor to run at very low frequencies (below 5 Hz) for too long
