F07925

Drive: Torque/speed out of tolerance

Siemens · DCM

What does F07925 mean?

This fault indicates a deviation between expected and actual motor performance. If p2193=1, the torque deviates from the defined torque/speed envelope characteristic. If p2193=2, the speed signal from an external encoder (p3230) deviates from the internal speed (r2169). This suggests a mechanical issue, an incorrect encoder setup, or improper drive parameterization.

Common Causes

  • Mechanical overload or jam causing the motor to draw excessive current and deviate from expected speed/torque profile (P2193 = 1).
  • Encoder feedback signal loss, intermittent noise, or incorrect scaling causing the drive to misinterpret actual motor speed (P2193 = 2).
  • Broken mechanical coupling between the motor and load, allowing the motor to run freely while the load is stationary or at reduced speed.
  • Incorrectly set torque limits (e.g., P1520 (Max motor torque), P1521 (Min motor torque)) or speed limits (e.g., P1080 (Min speed), P1082 (Max speed)) for the application.
  • Motor internal damage (e.g., bearing failure, shorted turns) leading to reduced torque production or excessive friction.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Observe actual motor speed (r0021) and torque (r0031) relative to their setpoints during operation to confirm the deviation.

  2. 2

    2. If P2193 = 2, inspect the encoder cable for damage, proper shielding, and secure connections at both the drive and motor ends.

  3. 3

    3. If P2193 = 1, manually check for mechanical binding or obstruction in the driven load, ensuring free movement.

  4. 4

    4. Verify parameters related to torque and speed monitoring (e.g., P2193 (Tolerance monitoring function), P2194 (Tolerance value)) are set appropriately for the application.

  5. 5

    5. Perform a motor identification run (P0340 = 1) to ensure accurate motor model parameters if the fault is persistent under normal load.
