F30052

EEPROM data error

Siemens · DCM

What does F30052 mean?

An error has occurred with the EEPROM data in the power unit module, either due to inconsistent data or incompatibility with the Control Unit (CU) firmware. This indicates a critical issue with the module's stored configuration or its ability to communicate properly with the CU. The power unit module cannot function correctly, and risks system instability or non-operation.

Common Causes

  • Corruption of data stored in the power unit's EEPROM due to power fluctuations, severe electromagnetic interference (EMI), or component aging.
  • Incompatibility between the firmware version of the Power Module and the connected Control Unit (CU) after an update or replacement.
  • A hardware defect in the EEPROM memory chip or its associated interface circuitry on the power unit's main PCB.
  • An interrupted power-down sequence, potentially corrupting EEPROM data during a write operation.
  • Installation of an incorrect or incompatible Power Module for the existing Control Unit hardware and firmware version.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Perform a full power cycle of the drive system (Control Unit and Power Module); observe if fault F30052 clears upon reboot.

  2. 2

Verify firmware compatibility between the Power Module (r0007, r0008) and the Control Unit (r0010) using documentation.

  3. 3

If a parameter backup exists, attempt to upload the parameters from the backup to the drive using appropriate commissioning software (e.g., STARTER).

  4. 4

Check the drive's diagnostic buffer for any other concurrent faults that might indicate a broader hardware or communication issue.

  5. 5

If the fault persists and all other checks pass, the Power Unit module itself is likely defective and requires replacement.

  6. 6

When replacing the Power Unit, ensure the new module is compatible and re-download the complete parameter set from a valid backup.
