A critical data exchange error has occurred between the internal processors, indicating a defect in the cross-comparison function or processor communication, often related to safety functions. This can be caused by EMC interference or internal hardware issues, leading to unsafe operating conditions or a drive shutdown.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Power cycle the drive; some transient internal communication errors can be resolved by a fresh restart.
2. Update the drive's firmware to the latest version, specifically checking for updates related to safety functions and internal communication integrity.
3. Perform a safety acknowledgement (P0010=0, P0970=1), then re-commission the safety functions (P0010=95) from scratch using STARTER/TIA Portal.
4. Check the drive's diagnostic buffer (r0947, r2122) for more specific fault sub-numbers that might indicate the failing internal component.
5. If applicable, review the wiring and settings of external safety components connected to the drive to rule out external influences.
6. Replace the control unit (e.g., CU320-2 PN, CU250S-2 with integrated safety) if the fault persists, as it indicates a severe internal hardware defect.
