Siemens · SINAMICS G120
The drive has detected that the motor's operating frequency has exceeded the configured maximum limit, as monitored by one or both internal processors. This can occur due to an application anomaly, incorrect parameterization of speed limits, or an issue with the safety monitoring system, potentially leading to overspeed and mechanical damage.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Verify the motor's actual operating speed using a handheld tachometer and compare it with the drive's output frequency (r0021) displayed on the BOP.
2. Inspect mechanical transmission components (e.g., belts, pulleys, gearboxes) for slippage, wear, or damage that could cause motor overspeed.
3. Check parameter P1082 (Maximum frequency) and ensure it is set correctly for the motor and application, typically below the motor's nameplate maximum.
4. Monitor the frequency setpoint source (e.g., P1000, P2000) from the PLC or HMI to confirm it does not command a frequency above P1082.
5. Verify motor rated frequency (P0304) and rated speed (P0310) parameters match the motor nameplate data exactly.
