The Safe Stop 1 (SS1) function is active, meaning the motor is brought to a standstill via a controlled ramp, and then STO is activated. This is a safety state initiated to safely stop the motor, not necessarily a fault.
Click steps to track your progress.
Check the status of the SS1 safety input signals by measuring voltage at the dedicated terminals (e.g., X1:DI2, X1:DI3) or checking Profisafe status word (r0945.x).
Verify the external safety chain elements (e.g., light curtains, safety mats) are in a safe state (e.g., no object detected).
Monitor motor speed via r0021 during the deceleration phase to confirm controlled ramp within tolerance (P30602).
Ensure the SS1 ramp time (P30602) is correctly set and not excessively long, preventing STO from activating prematurely or too late.
Reset the safety input or the upstream safety controller (e.g., F-PLC) to remove the SS1 activation command after clearing the trigger condition.
