F30664

Fault during power-up

Siemens · SINAMICS G120

What does F30664 mean?

A fault was detected during the inverter's power-up sequence, preventing it from starting correctly. This could be a hardware issue or a configuration problem encountered during initialization, which needs to be resolved for the drive to become operational.

Common Causes

  • Internal power supply failure within the inverter's control section or power module.
  • Corrupted firmware or parameter block preventing proper boot-up during initialization (e.g., P0010=30 setup).
  • Hardware component failure (e.g., control board, I/O module) detected during the internal self-test sequence.
  • Input power supply (L1, L2, L3) phase loss or severe voltage imbalance detected immediately at power-on.
  • Incorrect wiring of critical control signals (e.g., enable inputs) causing immediate pre-operation fault detection.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    Measure input line voltages (L1-L2, L2-L3, L3-L1) at the inverter's main power terminals (e.g., U, V, W) to confirm nominal supply (e.g., 400VAC).

  2. 2

Disconnect all external control wiring (e.g., X1 terminals) and communication cables (e.g., Profinet) from the inverter, then re-power to isolate external influences.

  3. 3

Perform a parameter reset to factory defaults (set P0010=30, then P0970=1) via the Basic Operator Panel (BOP) or engineering software.

  4. 4

Observe diagnostic LEDs (e.g., SF, RDY, LINK) on the inverter control unit for specific power-up sequence indications.

  5. 5

If fault persists, test with a known good control unit or power module if interchangeable, or prepare for complete inverter unit replacement.
