The drive has experienced a sustained power demand that continuously exceeds its rated capacity over an extended period. This condition signifies that the drive is consistently undersized for the application's demands, leading to thermal stress on its power components. Persistent long-time overloads will severely shorten the drive's operational life and lead to component failure.

1. Measure the drive's average and RMS output current (e.g., P1-05) over a typical operating cycle and compare to the drive's continuous rating.
2. Re-evaluate the sizing of the AC drive to ensure its continuous current rating matches or exceeds the motor's full load current for the application.
3. Confirm that all motor parameters (P1-01 to P1-07) entered into the drive configuration precisely match the connected motor's nameplate data.
4. Verify the integrity and efficiency of the mechanical system driven by the motor to ensure there is no unnecessary load.
5. Inspect the drive's cooling system (fans, heatsink) for any degradation that might cause its thermal capacity to be reduced.
