Vacon · 100 FLOW Application Guide
The data connection between the fieldbus master and the fieldbus board in the drive is defective. This prevents the drive from receiving or sending data via the fieldbus network, disrupting remote control and monitoring. Prolonged communication loss can lead to process control issues.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Verify the physical fieldbus cable connections at the drive's fieldbus option board and at the fieldbus master for looseness or damage.
2. Check the fieldbus termination settings (e.g., DIP switches or internal parameters) on the drive's fieldbus board and at the end of the network segment.
3. Confirm the drive's fieldbus address (e.g., P3.6.1.1 for Modbus ID) and communication speed (e.g., P3.6.1.2 for Modbus baud rate) match the settings in the fieldbus master.
4. Use a fieldbus diagnostic tool (e.g., network analyzer) to monitor traffic and identify signal integrity issues, packet loss, or invalid messages.
5. If available, try replacing the fieldbus option board with a known good spare of the same model and firmware version.
6. Examine the fieldbus master (e.g., PLC) for specific diagnostic messages or error codes related to communication with the drive.
