Vacon · 100 FLOW Application Guide
The data connection between the PC and the drive is defective, preventing communication with PC tools (e.g., commissioning software). This can be caused by faulty cabling, incorrect terminal connections, or installation issues. Without this connection, advanced configuration and diagnostics are not possible.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Verify the serial communication cable is securely connected to both the PC's COM port and the drive's communication port (e.g., RJ11/RJ45).
2. Ensure the communication parameters in the PC software (e.g., baud rate, parity, stop bits) precisely match the drive's internal settings (e.g., P3.6.1.2, P3.6.1.3).
3. Check the Device Manager on the PC to confirm the correct COM port is selected and the USB-to-serial driver is installed and functioning properly.
4. Use a multimeter to test the cable for continuity and correct pinout, paying attention to the transmit (Tx), receive (Rx), and ground (GND) lines.
5. Try using a different known good PC, communication cable, or USB-to-serial adapter to rule out issues with the PC or its accessories.
