The motor has stalled, meaning it is commanded to run but is not rotating, or its speed is significantly below commanded speed due to excessive load. This can result from mechanical binding, an overloaded application, or an issue within the motor itself. Sustained stalling can cause severe motor overheating and damage.

Visually inspect the motor and its connected mechanical load for any obstructions, seized bearings, or binding points that prevent rotation.
Verify the integrity of the motor's mechanical coupling to the load — check for shear pins, broken shafts, or loose connections.
Monitor the motor's current draw during an attempted start or run cycle — compare it to the motor's nameplate Full Load Amps (FLA) and the drive's current limit settings.
