Device changed (same type)

Vacon · NXS NXP

What does 37 mean?

An option board has been replaced with another board of the exact same type that was previously used in the same slot. The drive has recognized the replacement and still has the old parameter settings available. This is primarily an informational alarm, indicating the hardware change and that the drive is ready to use the previously stored settings.

Common Causes

  • An option board (e.g., I/O board, encoder board) was physically removed and then replaced with an identical board in the same slot.
  • The drive detected a change in the unique serial number or hardware identifier of the option board, even if the type is the same.
  • The drive maintains a record of previously installed option boards and identifies a new physical device, despite its type.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Acknowledge the informational fault message in the drive's display or software. This fault typically does not require corrective action for functionality.

  2. 2

Verify that the parameters associated with the option board (e.g., P4-xx settings for I/O) are still correct for the application.

  3. 3

If a parameter reset was performed and the old parameters are indeed desired, re-upload them to the drive.

  4. 4

Ensure the option board is securely seated in its slot and all connectors are firm.

  5. 5

Document the board replacement in maintenance logs, noting the old and new serial numbers if relevant for tracking.
