Parameter Out of Range (Adv. Code 0)
Vacon · X4
What does 30 mean?
This fault indicates that a customer-defined parameter has been set to a value outside its permissible range. This can lead to unexpected drive behavior, incorrect motor control, or prevent proper operation. An invalid parameter can compromise system safety and performance.
Common Causes
- Manual entry of a parameter value exceeding its maximum or falling below its minimum allowed range (e.g., P2-10 Min Frequency set higher than P2-09 Max Frequency).
- A parameter value automatically calculated by another setting results in an invalid range for a dependent parameter.
- Attempting to write a value to a read-only parameter, or a parameter locked by a security setting (e.g., P7-01 Security Code).
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
1. Identify the specific parameter flagged as out of range (usually displayed on the keypad or in the fault log).
- 2
2. Access the identified parameter and review its minimum and maximum permissible values as displayed on the keypad or in the user manual.
- 3
3. Adjust the parameter's value to be within its specified range, ensuring logical consistency with other related parameters.
- 4
4. If dependent parameters are involved, verify their settings and adjust as necessary to allow the target parameter to accept a valid value.
- 5
5. Save the new parameter settings and perform a power cycle on the drive.
