Yaskawa · E7 Drive
This fault occurs when the motor current exceeds 110% of the value set in parameter E2-01 (Motor Rated Current) for a duration determined by L1-02 (Motor Overload Protection Time). It indicates the motor is drawing excessive current, risking overheating and potential damage if the condition is not resolved.
Click steps to track your progress.
1. Measure the actual motor current with a clamp meter during operation and compare to the value set in E2-01 (Motor Rated Current).
2. Inspect the driven machinery for mechanical binding, seizing bearings, or excessive load that impedes motor rotation.
3. Verify E2-01 (Motor Rated Current) is accurately set to the motor's nameplate rated current.
4. Check L1-02 (Motor Overload Protection Time) setting to ensure it provides adequate thermal protection without nuisance tripping.
5. Monitor motor winding temperature using an infrared thermometer during operation to detect overheating independent of the drive.
