OPE03

Multi-function Input Selection Fault

Yaskawa · E7 Drive

What does OPE03 mean?

An Operator Programming Error due to duplicate multi-function input selections, conflicting up/down commands, or simultaneous speed search from maximum frequency and set frequency. The Drive will not operate until parameters are corrected.

Common Causes

  • Multiple digital input terminals (e.g., S1, S2, S3) are programmed with the same multi-function command (e.g., 'Run Forward' via H1-01 = 02, H1-02 = 02).
  • Conflicting multi-function inputs are active simultaneously (e.g., both 'Up' and 'Down' speed reference commands are enabled through H1-0x parameters).
  • Attempting to activate speed search (e.g., H5-01 = 1) while a maximum frequency limit (e.g., C0-01) or a different speed reference command is active.
  • Incorrect parameter settings for specific multi-function input terminals (e.g., H1-xx parameters for digital inputs) leading to logical conflicts.
  • External control wiring error causing multiple inputs to be asserted simultaneously when only one should be.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Review all multi-function input parameters (e.g., H1-01 to H1-08) and ensure no two inputs are assigned the exact same function. If duplicates exist, reassign one.

  2. 2

    2. Check for conflicting commands, such as both 'Up' (e.g., H1-01=10) and 'Down' (e.g., H1-02=11) speed commands being selected simultaneously. Ensure only one is active at a time.

  3. 3

    3. Verify the conditions under which speed search (e.g., parameter H5-01) is initiated, ensuring it does not conflict with active frequency commands or limits (C0-01, C0-02).

  4. 4

    4. Disconnect all external control wiring from the multi-function input terminals (S1-Sx) and observe if the fault clears. Reconnect one by one to identify the source of conflict.

  5. 5

    5. Use the drive's monitoring function (e.g., U1-xx) to check the real-time status of each digital input terminal and identify which inputs are asserted.
