OPE05

Run Command Sequence Selection Fault

Yaskawa · E7 Drive

What does OPE05 mean?

An Operator Programming Error where a run command is selected via serial communication (2CN) but no option board is installed, or it's installed incorrectly. The run command selection parameter B1-02 is set to 3 but the option board is absent. The Drive cannot operate without the correct board and settings.

Common Causes

  • Run command source parameter (e.g., B1-02) is set to 'Serial Communication (2CN)' or a fieldbus option, but the corresponding communication option board is not physically installed.
  • Communication option board is installed incorrectly (e.g., loose, misaligned, wrong slot), preventing the drive from detecting it.
  • The drive firmware requires a specific communication protocol or address, which is not configured on the option board or host system.
  • A different run command source (e.g., terminal block, digital operator) is selected, but the drive expects a command from the serial port due to a previous configuration error.
  • Faulty communication option board or a damaged communication port on the drive's control board.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Verify the run command source parameter (B1-02) setting. If a serial communication option board is not installed, change B1-02 to a local source (e.g., 'Terminal block' or 'Digital operator').

  2. 2

    2. If a serial option board is intended, physically inspect the board for correct installation, ensuring it is fully seated in its designated slot and secured with retaining screws.

  3. 3

    3. Check the option board's diagnostic LEDs (if present) for status or error indications. Refer to the option board's manual for LED diagnostic patterns.

  4. 4

    4. Power cycle the drive after verifying or adjusting B1-02 and physically installing/re-seating the option board.

  5. 5

    5. If using serial communication, ensure the communication parameters (e.g., B3-xx for baud rate, address) are correctly set in the drive and match the external controller.
