OPE11

Carrier Frequency Data Setting Fault

Yaskawa · E7 Drive

What does OPE11 mean?

An Operator Programming Error related to incorrect carrier frequency parameter settings, such as C6-05 > 6 and C6-04 > C6-03, or an upper/lower limit error for C6-03 (e.g., set above 5.0kHz). The Drive will not operate until corrected.

Common Causes

  • Carrier frequency parameter (e.g., C6-03) set outside its allowable range (e.g., above 5.0kHz or below a minimum value) for the specific drive model.
  • Carrier frequency reduction parameters (e.g., C6-04 for reduction start frequency, C6-05 for reduction type) are configured incorrectly or create logical conflicts.
  • Attempting to set an excessively high carrier frequency (e.g., >10kHz) without sufficient cooling or for a drive model that does not support it.
  • Mismatch between the drive's power section (kVA rating) and the selected carrier frequency limits.
  • Firmware discrepancy or internal error causing misinterpretation of carrier frequency settings.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

    1. Check the main carrier frequency parameter (C6-03) and ensure it is set strictly within the drive's specified operational range (e.g., typically 2kHz to 15kHz, but often limited to 5kHz for basic models).

  2. 2

    2. Review carrier frequency reduction parameters (C6-04, C6-05). Ensure C6-04 (reduction start frequency) is less than C6-03 (main carrier frequency) if reduction is active.

  3. 3

    3. If using auto carrier frequency reduction (e.g., C6-05=1 for auto), ensure all related thermal parameters are correctly configured.

  4. 4

    4. Reduce the set carrier frequency (C6-03) to a conservative value, such as 3.0kHz, and attempt to run the drive. Gradually increase if needed, while monitoring drive temperature (U1-07).

  5. 5

    5. Perform a factory reset (e.g., A1-03 = 2220) and re-enter all parameters, paying close attention to the C6-xx series parameters.
