10031

Heat sink too hot to phase search (_ecPHASE_SEARCH_TOO_HOT)

ABB · ACS850 Standard Program Firmware

¿Qué significa 10031 ?

The drive's heatsink has exceeded its safe operating temperature, preventing the system from performing a phase search function. This indicates inadequate cooling, which if ignored, can lead to permanent damage to the drive's power electronics.

Causas comunes

  • Blocked or restricted airflow to the drive's heatsink due to dust, debris, or inadequate cabinet ventilation.
  • Ambient temperature inside the electrical cabinet exceeding the drive's specified maximum operating temperature (e.g., 40°C).
  • Cooling fan failure (e.g., motor seized, blades broken) preventing forced convection cooling of the heatsink.
  • Sustained motor operation above rated current, causing excessive heat dissipation from the drive's output stage.
  • Improper heatsink compound application or loose heatsink mounting, reducing thermal transfer efficiency.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

    1. Remove any accumulated dust or debris from the heatsink fins using compressed air (ensure drive is powered off).

  2. 2

    2. Measure the ambient temperature inside the electrical cabinet using a thermometer and compare it to the drive's specifications.

  3. 3

    3. Verify the drive's internal cooling fan operation by visually confirming blade rotation or measuring fan RPM (if accessible).

  4. 4

    4. Check the cabinet ventilation system (e.g., filters, exhaust fans) for blockages or failures.

  5. 5

    5. Reduce the motor load or operating cycle to decrease the average current draw and heat generation by the drive.
