Load Loss

Allen-Bradley · PowerFlex 520-series Adjustable Frequency

¿Qué significa F015 ?

The output torque current has fallen below a programmed minimum level (A490 [Load Loss Level]) for a duration longer than the set time (A491 [Load Loss Time]). This indicates that the mechanical load on the motor has been lost or significantly reduced, possibly due to a broken belt, coupling failure, or pump cavitation.

Causas comunes

  • Mechanical coupling failure between the motor and the driven load (e.g., broken belt, sheared shaft key, uncoupled gearbox).
  • Load loss detection threshold (A490 [Load Loss Level]) set too high, causing the drive to trip prematurely during normal light load operation.
  • Interruption of process material flow (e.g., empty pump suction, no material on conveyor) causing a significant reduction in motor load.
  • Damaged internal components within the driven equipment (e.g., broken pump impeller, worn fan blades) leading to reduced resistance.
  • Incorrect motor parameters (P1-50 [Motor Nominal Current]) affecting the drive's current sensing accuracy and load estimation.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Physically inspect the mechanical coupling between the motor and the load (e.g., belts, gears, shafts) for damage, looseness, or disconnection.

  2. 2

Observe the actual motor current (P0-04 [Motor Current]) during normal operation and compare it to the parameter A490 (Load Loss Level). Adjust A490 to be below the typical minimum operational current.

  3. 3

Verify the integrity of the process material flow (e.g., liquid level in a tank, material on a conveyor belt) impacting the mechanical load.

  4. 4

Check for any damage or obstruction in the driven equipment (e.g., pump impeller, fan blades, conveyor rollers) that would reduce the load.

  5. 5

Confirm that A491 (Load Loss Time) is set appropriately for the application, allowing for normal brief load fluctuations without tripping.
