HPFB communication fault

Danfoss · VLT 2800 Variable Speed Drive

¿Qué significa 34 ?

This communication fault specifically occurs in Profibus versions of the drive. It indicates a problem with data exchange over the Profibus network via the HPFB option card.

Causas comunes

  • Incorrect Profibus network configuration (e.g., GSD file mismatch, incorrect DP address P801, or baud rate P802).
  • Physical damage to the Profibus cable (e.g., break, short, shield fault) or loose connection at the HPFB card.
  • Profibus termination resistors are missing, incorrectly placed, or not enabled/disabled properly on the segment.
  • Profibus master (PLC) is not in RUN mode, has a communication fault itself, or is not configured to poll the drive's address.
  • High levels of electromagnetic interference (EMI) corrupting data packets on the Profibus network.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Verify the Profibus GSD file used in the PLC project matches the specific HPFB option card version in the drive.

  2. 2

Check the drive's Profibus address (P801) and baud rate (P802) against the PLC configuration. Ensure no duplicate addresses on the bus.

  3. 3

Inspect the Profibus cable for continuity, shorts, and proper shielding connections from the HPFB card to the network segment.

  4. 4

Confirm that Profibus termination resistors are correctly installed and enabled/disabled at the physical ends of the Profibus segment.

  5. 5

Check the Profibus master (PLC) diagnostic buffer for specific communication errors related to the drive's address.

  6. 6

Use a Profibus diagnostic tool (e.g., ProfiTrace) to analyze bus telegrams, identify signal integrity issues, and locate faulty nodes or segments.
