The output current has exceeded the value set in parameter 4-18 (Current Limit). This indicates that the motor is drawing more current than configured, possibly due to overload, incorrect motor data, or an inappropriately set current limit. Persistent current limiting can restrict motor performance and lead to unexpected shutdowns.
Causas comunes
- Mechanical overload on the motor shaft (e.g., jammed equipment, excessive friction, too high process load).
- Parameter P4-18 (Current Limit) set too low for the application's normal operating current or motor's nominal current (P1-22).
- Incorrect motor data (e.g., P1-22 Motor Current, P1-20 Motor Power) entered, causing the drive to misinterpret safe operating limits.
- Motor winding short circuit or insulation breakdown to ground, leading to abnormally high current draw.
- Single-phasing or severe phase imbalance on the drive output (U, V, W) due to a cable fault or motor issue, forcing remaining phases to carry higher current.
- Excessively fast acceleration ramp time (P3-41) causing high inrush current during startup or speed changes.

Inspect the mechanical system for any obstructions, excessive friction, or loads exceeding the motor's rated capacity.

Review and adjust parameter P4-18 (Current Limit) to an appropriate value, typically 110-150% of the motor's nominal current (P1-22).

Verify all motor nameplate data, especially P1-22 (Motor Current) and P1-20 (Motor Power), is accurately configured in the drive.

Measure the output current on all three phases (U, V, W) using a clamp meter to identify any phase imbalance or sustained high current.

Perform an insulation resistance test on the motor windings (using a megohmmeter with appropriate test voltage) to check for internal shorts.
