PS5257

G41/G42 NOT ALLOWED IN MDI MODE

Fanuc · Series 0i-MODEL F Plus Parameter

¿Qué significa PS5257 ?

This alarm is generated when a G41 (tool radius compensation left) or G42 (tool radius compensation right) command is specified while the machine is operating in Manual Data Input (MDI) mode. This functionality is controlled by parameter 5008 bit #4 (MCR); if this bit is set to 1, the alarm will be raised.

Causas comunes

  • The G41 (cutter compensation left) or G42 (cutter compensation right) commands are being used while the control is in MDI (Manual Data Input) mode.
  • Cutter compensation requires a programmed path for the control to calculate the tool offset, which is not available during MDI operation.
  • The control's safety interlocks prevent the activation of tool path adjustments like G41/G42 when operating in a manual, single-block mode.
  • Attempting to execute a programmed move with cutter compensation in MDI mode bypasses the normal program execution flow.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Check parameter 5008 bit #4 (MCR). If it is set to 1, G41/G42 commands are prevented from being executed in MDI mode.

  2. 2

If G41/G42 commands are required in MDI mode, consider setting parameter 5008 bit #4 (MCR) to 0 (after careful assessment of machine safety and operational requirements).

  3. 3

As an alternative, place G41/G42 commands within a part program and execute them in MEM (Memory) mode rather than MDI mode.
