Target position out of travel range
Indramat · CLM01.3-M Flying Cutoff Control
¿Qué significa E253 ?
In drive-controlled interpolation modes, the Indramat DIAX04 SSE-03VRS drive checks if the specified target position (S-0-0258) is within the possible travel range, defined by S-0-0049 (Positive position limit value) and S-0-0050 (Negative position limit value). This check is activated by bit 4 of S-0-0055 (Position polarities). This warning occurs when the target position exceeds these limits, and the position limit check is active. The drive stops, and bit 13 of S-0-0012 (Class 2 diagnostic) is set.
Causas comunes
- The target position (S-0-0258) lies beyond the defined position limits (S-0-0049, S-0-0050).
- The position limit check (S-0-0055, bit 4) is activated, and the motion profile results in an out-of-range target position.
- The positive position limit value (S-0-0049) is not greater than the negative position limit value (S-0-0050), indicating an incorrect limit setup.

- 1
Review the commanded S-0-0258 (Target position) and ensure it is always set within the acceptable operating range defined by S-0-0049 (Positive position limit value) and S-0-0050 (Negative position limit value).
- 2
Verify the values of S-0-0049 and S-0-0050. Confirm that S-0-0049 is logically greater than S-0-0050 and that these limits correctly reflect the physical travel range of the axis.
- 3
Check the setting of S-0-0055 (Position polarities), specifically bit 4, to determine if the position limit check is active. If the check is not required for the specific operating mode (e.g., modulo mode), consider deactivating it.
- 4
Inspect the mechanical system for any obstructions that might restrict movement within the defined limits, or if the actual home/reference position has shifted.
- 5
Clear the warning by addressing the target position command or adjusting the limits, then acknowledge the fault.
