12.2

24V Brake Voltage Fault

SEW Eurodrive · MOVIDRIVE system

¿Qué significa 12.2 ?

The 24V supply voltage for the brake is not within the permitted tolerance of ±10%. This can prevent the brake from operating reliably, potentially causing it to fail to engage or disengage, leading to uncontrolled loads or safety risks. This monitoring is active only when the brake is parameterized as 'installed' and 'applied'.

Causas comunes

  • Overload on the 24VDC brake supply, drawing excessive current and causing voltage sag below 21.6V.
  • Faulty external 24VDC power supply unit (PSU) providing unstable or out-of-tolerance voltage.
  • Damaged or undersized wiring for the 24VDC brake supply causing significant voltage drop under load.
  • Short circuit to ground or another potential on the 24VDC brake power lines.
  • Internal fault within the drive's 24VDC brake supply monitoring circuit.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

Measure the 24VDC supply voltage at the drive's brake power output terminals (e.g., X1/24V) with the brake connected and disconnected.

  2. 2

Verify the input voltage to the external 24VDC power supply unit (if applicable) is stable and within tolerance.

  3. 3

Check the total current draw on the 24VDC brake supply and compare it to the PSU's rated output (monitor P1-63).

  4. 4

Inspect the 24VDC brake power cable for signs of damage or short circuits, especially at connection points.

  5. 5

Temporarily disconnect other loads from the 24VDC supply (if shared) to isolate the fault to the brake circuit.
