Drive: Regenerative power limit exceeded (F3E)

Siemens · DCM

¿Qué significa F07806 ?

For PM250 and PM260 blocksize power units, the regenerative rated power (r0206[2]) was continuously exceeded for more than 10 seconds. This indicates that the drive is generating excessive energy back into the DC bus or supply, which can lead to overvoltage and potential damage if the regeneration capability is insufficient.

Causas comunes

  • Excessive braking energy from a high inertia load or rapid deceleration rates (e.g., P1121 (Deceleration time 1) set too short).
  • Inadequate braking resistor capacity or an incorrect resistance value (e.g., P0219 (Braking resistor resistance) set too high or too low).
  • Malfunction of the internal or external braking chopper, preventing effective dissipation of regenerative energy.
  • Frequent starts/stops or cyclical operations on a vertical axis application without proper energy dissipation mechanisms.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

    1. Increase deceleration time (P1121) to reduce the rate of energy regeneration during braking.

  2. 2

    2. Verify the connected braking resistor's resistance value with an ohmmeter and compare it to P0219.

  3. 3

    3. Check the braking resistor thermal fuse for continuity and ensure proper ventilation around the resistor bank.

  4. 4

    4. Monitor r0206[2] (Regenerative power) during operation to quantify the peak and average regenerative power.

  5. 5

    5. Consider increasing the braking resistor power rating or adding an additional braking resistor module if r0206[2] consistently exceeds capacity.
