Control Fault

Deceleration Control Fault

Yaskawa · V1000

¿Qué significa Control Fault ?

The drive's internal torque limit was exceeded for longer than 3 seconds during a deceleration phase, specifically when operating in Open Loop Vector control mode. This typically indicates that the load inertia is too high, the torque limit is set too low for the application, or the motor parameters programmed into the drive are incorrect.

Causas comunes

  • Insufficient deceleration time (e.g., P1-06) set for the load's inertia, causing excessive regenerative energy.
  • Motor braking torque capability (e.g., C6-01, C6-02) is inadequate for the connected mechanical load in Open Loop Vector mode.
  • High inertia load coupled with an aggressive deceleration ramp (e.g., P1-06, P1-07) and limited drive braking capacity.
  • Open Loop Vector (OLV) control mode (e.g., A1-02 = 1) parameters (e.g., C1-xx for motor data) are not accurately tuned for the motor.
  • Motor or mechanical system binding during deceleration, increasing resistance beyond the drive's torque limit.

Pasos de reparación & Lista de verificación

Haga clic en los pasos para seguir su progreso.

  1. 1

    1. Increase the deceleration time (e.g., Parameter P1-06 or P1-07) by 20-50% to reduce the rate of energy dissipation required.

  2. 2

    2. Verify the motor parameters (e.g., C1-01 to C1-06) stored in the drive match the motor nameplate data exactly for accurate Open Loop Vector control.

  3. 3

    3. Enable or increase the 'Stall Prevention (Decel)' level (e.g., Parameter L3-04) to allow the drive to extend deceleration time and prevent over-current.

  4. 4

    4. Evaluate the application for the need of an external braking resistor and braking chopper if regenerative energy is consistently high (monitor DC bus voltage U1-03).

  5. 5

    5. Check for mechanical binding or excessive friction in the load (e.g., bearings, gearbox) by manually rotating the motor shaft with power off.

  6. 6

    6. Monitor motor current (U1-02) during deceleration to identify if it reaches the drive's rated output current before the fault.
