External Fault (Terminal S5)

¿Qué significa EF5 ?

This fault indicates that an external device triggered a fault via the Multi-Function Digital Input (MFDI) terminal S5, or there is incorrect wiring to S5, or the terminal is incorrectly configured for an external fault despite not being in use. This causes the drive to halt operation based on an external signal, potentially stopping connected machinery.

• A monitoring device (e.g., thermal overload relay, vibration sensor output) connected to terminal S5 has triggered a fault.
• Incorrect wiring termination at S5, causing an intermittent or permanent open circuit.
• Drive parameter P2-05 (or equivalent) for S5 is mistakenly configured as an external fault input when it should be a different function.
• The external device connected to S5 has malfunctioned or lost its internal power supply.
• High frequency electrical noise disrupting the signal on the S5 input, causing false fault detection.

   Verify the physical wiring to terminal S5 for any damage or loose connections. Use a wire continuity tester if suspicion exists.

   Check the status and operation of the external monitoring device connected to S5. Review its local diagnostics.
