SP0007
Overspeed
Fanuc · AC Spindle Motor Alpha i-Beta i Series Parameters
What does SP0007 mean?
The spindle motor speed has exceeded the programmed or safe operating limit. This can be caused by incorrect speed commands, parameter settings, or a malfunctioning speed sensor.
Common Causes
- Incorrect commanded speed value in the program (e.g., G-code error).
- Tuning parameters for speed control are too aggressive.
- Spindle encoder feedback is giving erroneous high readings.
- Internal software error in the CNC's speed control logic.
- Mechanical issue causing the spindle to freewheel at high speed.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Review the program for any excessively high S-codes or rapid speed changes.
- 2
Check parameter P1-02 (velocity gain) and P1-03 (velocity integration time).
- 3
Inspect the spindle encoder for damage and ensure stable mounting.
- 4
Reset the spindle amplifier to factory default speed control parameters.
- 5
Physically verify the spindle stops when commanded to stop.
