Count Error Alarm

What does SP0140 mean?

The number of pulses between one phase Z and another from the spindle sensor is shifted by 4λ or more. This indicates a significant discrepancy in the phase Z signal, which is critical for absolute position detection, suggesting a fundamental sensor or feedback cable issue.

Repair Steps

  1. 1

Check the spindle sensor for proper installation and alignment, particularly the phase Z ring, as mechanical issues can cause pulse shifts.

  2. 2

Inspect the spindle sensor cable (e.g., K97, page 297) for any damage or interference that could disrupt the phase Z signal.

  3. 3

Perform the output signal check method for the αiCZ sensor (Section 11.2.3.12, page 394) to confirm correct phase Z signal output and its relationship to phase A/B signals.

  4. 4

If the sensor ring was tightened with excessive torque during installation, deformation can occur, deteriorating detection precision. Use the recommended tightening torque (e.g., M3 screws at 1.5Nm for A860-2164-T411, page 366).

  5. 5

If no mechanical or cable issues are found, the spindle sensor may require replacement to restore accurate pulse counting.
