G41/G42 NOT ALLOWED IN MDI MODE
Fanuc · Series 0i-MODEL F Plus Parameter
What does PS5257 mean?
This alarm is generated when a G41 (tool radius compensation left) or G42 (tool radius compensation right) command is specified while the machine is operating in Manual Data Input (MDI) mode. This functionality is controlled by parameter 5008 bit #4 (MCR); if this bit is set to 1, the alarm will be raised.
Repair Steps
- 1
Check parameter 5008 bit #4 (MCR). If it is set to 1, G41/G42 commands are prevented from being executed in MDI mode.
- 2
If G41/G42 commands are required in MDI mode, consider setting parameter 5008 bit #4 (MCR) to 0 (after careful assessment of machine safety and operational requirements).
- 3
As an alternative, place G41/G42 commands within a part program and execute them in MEM (Memory) mode rather than MDI mode.
