Serial Spindle Communication Error

What does 945 mean?

This alarm indicates a failure in the serial communication link between the Fanuc Series 20 CNC and the spindle amplifier. This prevents the CNC from sending commands to or receiving feedback from the spindle, resulting in an inoperable spindle.

• Loose, disconnected, or damaged serial communication cable (e.g., fiber optic) between the CNC and spindle amplifier.
• Incorrect parameter settings for the serial communication link in the CNC or spindle amplifier.
• Malfunctioning serial interface on either the spindle amplifier or the CNC spindle control board.
• Excessive electrical noise interfering with the serial data transmission.
• Spindle amplifier not powered on or in an error state itself.
