Inverter Internal Cooling Fan Stop (SVM)
Fanuc · Series 30i CNC
What does 1 mean?
This alarm indicates that the internal cooling fan within the Servo Amplifier Module (SVM) has stopped operating. The fan is critical for dissipating heat generated by the inverter's power components. A stopped fan will lead to rapid overheating of the SVM, potentially causing thermal shutdown or damage.
Common Causes
- Foreign material obstructing the fan blades.
- The faceplate (control printed-circuit board) is not fully seated.
- The fan connector is not attached correctly or is loose.
- The internal cooling fan itself has failed.
Repair Steps
- 1
Check for any foreign material (e.g., dust, debris) in the fan mechanism.
- 2
Be sure to push the faceplate (control printed-circuit board) as far as it will go into its slot to ensure proper contact.
- 3
Check that the fan connector is securely attached to the SVM printed-circuit board.
- 4
Replace the internal cooling fan if it is confirmed to be defective.
- 5
Replace the SVM if the fan has been replaced and the alarm persists.
