F

Inverter Cooling Fan Stopped

Fanuc · Series 30i CNC

What does F mean?

The cooling fan for the inverter radiator has stopped operating. This condition leads to inadequate heat dissipation, risking the inverter unit (SVM) overheating and potentially causing damage or shutdown.

Common Causes

  • Foreign material obstructing the fan's rotation
  • Faceplate (control printed-circuit board) not fully seated
  • Fan connector not correctly attached to the SVM unit

Repair Steps

  1. 1

Check the cooling fan for any foreign material and carefully remove it

  2. 2

Ensure the faceplate (control printed-circuit board) is pushed in as far as it will go into the SVM unit

  3. 3

Verify that the fan connector is correctly and securely attached to its receptacle

  4. 4

Replace the cooling fan if it remains non-operational after checking for obstructions and connections

  5. 5

Replace the SVM unit if the fan issue persists after fan replacement and connection checks
