Clutch supervision
Kone · CMXC-022 Frequency Control Upgrade Kit
What does 84 mean?
Clutch slipping has been detected in a chain hoist, or there's an issue with the speed feedback from ENC2A-B, by the R&M Materials Handling Frequency Converter. This indicates a loss of mechanical integrity or an encoder signal problem, potentially due to worn components or incorrect parameter settings (P8.7).
Common Causes
- Clutch slipping detected (in chain hoists)
- Worn chain or chain drive (in chain hoists)
- Missing pulses in the signal connected to ENC2A-B
- Parameter P8.7 (ENC2 Stall Pulse Limit) value is too high
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check and adjust the clutch mechanism
- 2
Check and replace the chain and chain drive if worn
- 3
Check or replace the speed sensor connected to ENC2A-B
- 4
Lower the value of parameter P8.7 (ENC2 Stall Pulse Limit)
