55 Lift Down Coil Fault
Kone · Elevator Control
What does 55 mean?
A fault has been detected in the lift down coil, indicating an electrical issue with the solenoid responsible for lowering the platform. This disables both lifting and driving functions.
Common Causes
- Lift down coil open circuit, short circuit, or high resistance.
- Damaged wiring or loose connections to the lift down coil.
- Control circuit failure attempting to activate the coil.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Verify the nominal supply voltage at the terminals connected to the lift down solenoid coil.
- 2
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the lift down solenoid coil for any visible damage, chafing, or loose connections.
- 3
Measure the resistance of the lift down solenoid coil (with power disconnected) and compare it against the specified value in the Kone Kone service manual.
- 4
Check the output status and voltage from the Kone Kone Elevator Control unit's relevant output terminal to ensure it is commanding the lift down solenoid correctly.
- 5
Inspect the mechanical plunger and linkage of the lift down solenoid for free movement and any obstructions that could prevent its proper operation.
