Breakdown in Power Module
Kone · Frequency Inverter
What does 1 mean?
This error signifies a critical failure within the power module of the inverter/drive system, which is responsible for power conversion to the motor. This could be caused by component degradation, electrical overstress, or thermal issues, leading to an inability of the drive to supply power.
Common Causes
- Internal component failure within the power module, such as IGBTs or diodes.
- Overcurrent or overvoltage stress applied to the power module.
- Excessive operating temperature leading to thermal breakdown of components.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Check for external signs of damage, burning, or discoloration on the power module components.
- 2
Measure input and output terminals of the power module for correct voltage and current levels.
- 3
Inspect the cooling system (fans, heatsinks) dedicated to the power module to ensure effective operation and airflow.
- 4
Verify the integrity and secure connections of all power cables to and from the power module.
