Under-voltage

Kone · Frequency Inverter

What does 9 mean?

This error indicates that the DC bus voltage within the drive has dropped below its minimum permissible limit. This typically occurs due to an insufficient or unstable input power supply, or a sudden voltage sag in the AC mains.

Common Causes

  • Input power supply voltage is consistently too low or experiences significant instability.
  • Voltage sag on the AC input lines during periods of high demand.
  • Faulty power supply or rectifier section within the drive itself.
  • Excessive load leading to a significant voltage drop under heavy current draw.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Measure the input AC line voltage to the drive to ensure it is stable and consistently within the specified operating range.

  2. 2

Check the capacity of the power source; ensure it is adequate to supply the required current without significant voltage drop under load.

  3. 3

Inspect the input power connections and any associated fuses for secure contact and integrity.

  4. 4

If accessible, verify the rectifier section of the drive for proper functionality and output.
