CE4-Trip (Drive bus communication errors exceeded)
Kuka · KR C2 Robot Controller
What does 65 mean?
This fault indicates that the maximum permissible number of communication errors with the drive bus has been exceeded. For KSDs, this also includes too many toggle bit errors in succession. This severe communication breakdown leads to short-circuit braking, signifying a loss of reliable control and data exchange with the drive bus.
Repair Steps
- 1
Inspect the drive bus communication cable for physical damage along its entire length, including connectors.
- 2
Verify the proper termination (resistor presence/absence) at both ends of the drive bus segment according to system specifications.
- 3
Check parameter settings for communication speed and address for each device on the bus, ensuring they are unique and correct.
- 4
Measure continuity of bus lines at communication terminals to detect open or short circuits.
