Max. following error exceeded ({Drive})

Kuka · KSS 8.3 Operating & Programming Manual

What does 26024 mean?

The deviation between the commanded position and the actual position for the specified drive ({Drive}) has exceeded the maximum allowable limit. This often occurs in torque mode operations if regular monitoring functions are not appropriately deactivated, or due to external mechanical resistance.

Common Causes

  • Excessive deviation between commanded and actual position for the specified drive ({Drive})
  • Regular monitoring functions remaining active during torque mode operations when they should be deactivated
  • Mechanical load or obstruction on the specified drive ({Drive}) preventing accurate positioning

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

If torque mode is intentionally active, verify that regular monitoring functions are deactivated using SET_TORQUE_LIMITS(..., monitor #off)

  2. 2

Investigate mechanical load or obstruction on the specified drive ({Drive}) that might be causing position deviation

  3. 3

Check for correct tuning of the drive's position control loop
