What does SP mean?
This fault indicates that the polarity of an analog input signal (e.g., set-value, feedback) is inverted or incorrect, causing the drive to interpret the signal incorrectly. By default, this condition triggers a full TRIP, inhibiting all ignition pulses and resetting the Ready signal, as incorrect polarity can lead to unstable or dangerous operation. Manual reset is required.
Common Causes
- Inverted wiring for an analog input (e.g., 0-10VDC signal where positive and negative terminals are swapped).
- Incorrect parameter setting for analog input polarity (e.g., P6-03 set to inverted when it should be normal).
- Swapped direction feedback for an incremental encoder (e.g., A/B phases are reversed, P5-03 set incorrectly).
- PID controller output polarity mismatch with the actuator's physical response (e.g., P3-14 Output polarity).
- Faulty sensor or feedback device providing an inverted signal.

Verify the physical wiring of the identified input/feedback against the drive's wiring diagram for correct polarity.

Check the relevant drive parameter for signal polarity (e.g., P6-03 for analog input 1 polarity, P5-03 for encoder rotation direction).

Apply a known positive test signal (e.g., +5VDC) to the input and observe the drive's measured value (e.g., using a diagnostic screen); if it reads negative, swap polarity.
