CAN Remote Parameterization Error
Lenze · 8200 Series
What does ce7 mean?
A communication error has occurred during remote parameterization via the system bus (C0370), typically because a node is unresponsive or unavailable. This can also be caused by incorrect parameter set changeover configuration with application I/O. Such errors prevent remote configuration and control of the drive.
Common Causes
- The target CAN node (slave device) is powered off, in an error state, or has an incorrect node ID (P8-02 or P8-12) preventing addressing.
- Incorrect parameter set changeover configuration (e.g., P0-02, P0-03) preventing remote writing to parameter sets.
- High network latency or intermittent communication issues preventing the completion of parameterization commands (C0370).
- Corrupted parameter data transmitted over the CAN bus, leading to rejection by the slave device.
- The remote parameterization tool or software (C0370) has incorrect settings for the target device or network.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Confirm the target CAN slave device is powered on, healthy, and its CAN node ID (P8-02 for CAN-IN1 or P8-12 for CAN-IN2) matches the remote parameterization request.
- 2
Review parameter P0-02 (Parameter set source) and P0-03 (Parameter set changeover mode) to ensure they are configured to allow remote parameter writing.
- 3
Verify the CAN bus cabling for integrity and proper termination to eliminate physical communication errors.
- 4
Re-transmit the parameter data if it is suspected to be corrupted, possibly simplifying the data structure for testing.
- 5
Check the settings of the remote parameterization tool (C0370), including the target device address and communication protocol, to ensure they are correct.
