0013

OC3 Overload during acceleration

Lenze · 9300 Series

What does 0013 mean?

This fault indicates an overload condition during acceleration due to acceleration or deceleration times (C0012, C0013, C0105) that are too short relative to the connected load. The current controller is likely reaching its limits frequently.

Common Causes

  • Acceleration ramp time (C0012) set too short for the inertia of the connected load, causing the motor to draw excessive current.
  • Load inertia is significantly higher than the motor's capability, requiring prolonged high current during acceleration even with optimized ramp times.
  • Mechanical binding or excessive friction in the driven equipment (e.g., bearings, gearbox), increasing the torque demand during acceleration.
  • Incorrect motor data parameters (e.g., C0090, C0091, C0092) entered in the drive, leading to an inaccurate motor model and control response.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Increase the acceleration ramp time (C0012) in increments of 0.5-1.0 seconds and retest the acceleration profile.

  2. 2

Verify the mechanical integrity of the driven load for binding or excessive friction by manually rotating the load if possible.

  3. 3

Check and correct motor nameplate data (e.g., rated current C0091, rated speed C0092, rated power C0090) within the drive parameters.

  4. 4

Perform an autotuning routine if available (e.g., parameter C0004 = 1) to optimize motor parameters for the connected load.

  5. 5

Monitor motor current (e.g., via drive display or oscilloscope at X1/ANALOG_OUT) during acceleration to identify peak current.
