CE2 Communication error at process data input object CAN2_IN
Lenze · 9300 Series
What does x063 mean?
A communication error has occurred with the process data input object CAN2_IN. This can be due to issues with the CAN bus, wiring, or incorrect data configuration. The monitoring time for this communication channel can be set with parameter C0357/2.
Common Causes
- Physical damage to the CAN bus cable (e.g., crushing, abrasion) leading to an intermittent or open circuit on CAN2.
- Missing or incorrect termination resistors (120 Ohm) on the CAN2 network, causing signal reflections and data errors.
- Duplicate CAN node ID (P5-06) assigned to the drive or another device on the CAN2 network segment.
- Mismatch in CAN bus baud rate (P5-07) between the drive and the CAN master or other nodes on the CAN2 network.
- Process data object (PDO) mapping or content incorrectly configured for CAN2_IN, leading to data interpretation failures.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
1. Visually inspect the CAN bus wiring connecting to CAN2_IN terminals for any signs of physical damage; replace the cable if compromised.
- 2
2. Measure the resistance across CAN_H and CAN_L terminals at the physical ends of the CAN2 network; it should be approximately 60 Ohms.
- 3
3. Confirm the CAN node ID (P5-06) for the drive and all other devices on the CAN2 network are unique.
- 4
4. Check the CAN bus baud rate (P5-07) setting on the drive and ensure it matches the master controller for CAN2.
- 5
5. Use a CAN bus analyzer to monitor data traffic on CAN2 and identify any corrupted or missing telegrams for CAN2_IN.
