Communication monitoring Serial interface
Lenze · SHB4800/4900
What does CE9 mean?
This fault indicates a problem with the serial communication interface, such as an interruption in data exchange, incorrect settings, or a faulty physical connection. The default behavior for this fault is to be switchable off, suggesting it might be configurable to a warning or message level, but its presence still indicates a potential loss of control or monitoring via the serial interface.
Complete Troubleshooting Guide
- 1
Check serial cable connections: Inspect the physical serial cable (e.g., RS232/RS485) for loose connections, damage, or improper shielding.
- 2
Verify communication parameters: Ensure baud rate, data bits, stop bits, and parity settings match between the drive and the communicating device.
- 3
Check termination resistors: If using RS485, ensure termination resistors are correctly installed at both ends of the bus.
- 4
Test communication link: Use diagnostic software or a different device to attempt communication with the drive.
- 5
Review monitoring configuration: Check the drive's parameters (if available) for CE9 to see how the communication monitoring is set up and if it's intentionally disabled.
