OC3

Inverter Overload during Acceleration

Lenze · System manual 8200

What does OC3 mean?

The inverter has experienced an overload during the acceleration phase, potentially due to the acceleration time parameter (C012) being set too short, a defective motor cable, or an interturn fault within the motor. This indicates the drive is attempting to deliver more current than its rating, which can cause overheating and damage to the inverter if prolonged.

Complete Troubleshooting Guide

  1. 1

Increase the acceleration time (parameter C012) to allow for a smoother ramp-up and reduce peak currents.

  2. 2

Check all motor wiring for damage, proper connections, and verify insulation integrity.

  3. 3

Perform diagnostic tests on the motor for potential interturn faults, and ensure the drive is appropriately sized for the motor and application load.
