Remote Controller Transmission Error
Mitsubishi Electric · PUZ-HA30/36NHA4 Outdoor Unit
What does E3 mean?
The remote controller cannot find a blank transmission path for 6 seconds and cannot transmit, or the indoor controller board cannot find a blank transmission path. This can be due to multiple remote controllers set as 'main', a remote controller connected to multiple indoor units, repeated refrigerant addresses, a defective transmitting/receiving circuit on the remote controller or indoor controller board, or noise in the remote controller transmission wire.
Common Causes
- Remote controller fails to transmit commands to the indoor unit.
- Damaged or disconnected wiring between remote controller and indoor unit.
- Faulty remote controller.
- Faulty indoor unit communication interface.
Repair Steps & Checklist
Click steps to track your progress.
- 1
Set one remote controller to 'main' and any others to 'sub'.
- 2
Ensure the remote controller is connected with only one indoor unit.
- 3
Change the refrigerant address to a separate setting.
- 4
Diagnose the remote controller: If 'RC OK' is displayed, turn power off/on; if abnormal again, replace indoor controller board. If 'RC NG' is displayed, replace the remote controller. If 'RC E3' or 'ERC 00-66' is displayed, noise may be the cause.
