E06
Braking Resistor Overload Protection
Omron · MX2 Inverter
What does E06 mean?
This fault indicates that the regenerative braking resistor has been overloaded, typically due to excessive or continuous energy dissipation from the motor. The inverter monitors the usage rate of the braking resistor (b090) and trips to prevent damage to the resistor and associated components.
Additional Steps
Steps 1–2 are listed in Priority Fix.
- 3
Increase deceleration times (F003/F203/A093/A293) to reduce the amount of energy dissipated by the resistor per unit time.
- 4
Adjust the 'Usage rate of regenerative braking function' parameter (b090) to a more appropriate value.
- 5
If the application requires frequent or heavy braking, consider installing a larger braking resistor or an external regenerative braking unit with higher capacity.
