E35

Thermistor Trip

Omron · MX2 Inverter

What does E35 mean?

This fault is activated when an external thermistor, connected to the inverter's input terminals [5] and [L], detects that the motor temperature has exceeded a safe limit (typically above 3 kΩ ±10%). The inverter trips and turns off its output to prevent motor overheating and damage.

Additional Steps

Steps 1–2 are listed in Priority Fix.

  1. 3

Verify the thermistor's resistance value at ambient temperature; if it's open-circuited or out of range, replace it.

  2. 4

Ensure the motor load and operating conditions are within its rated thermal limits to prevent chronic overheating.

  3. 5

Clear the error by pressing the Stop/Reset key on the inverter keypad after the motor has cooled sufficiently.
